I joined Metafora Biosystems as a Senior Full-Stack Developer to lead the development of Metaflow, a web-based platform for processing and visualizing flow cytometry datasets — turning complex biological data into actionable insights and reproducible analysis strategies.

I am actively bringing development in-house, transitioning back-end and front-end work from external contractors to an internal team by training the existing data science group on software engineering practices, onboarding new developers, and defining agile processes. I am also structuring and organizing the project’s domain logic to follow good engineering practices. Since January 2026, I have been leading the engineering team as Lead Software Engineer, overseeing architecture decisions, mentoring, and driving the product roadmap.

As part of a nine month-long contract with Airbus, I worked as a Software Engineer for the Public Cloud Platform team to facilitate and accelerate the release of a new version of the portal used to manage cloud resources and applications for Airbus and their customers.

Working remotely with a team based in Toulouse and made up of contractors and full-time employees, the challenge was to prioritize the continuity between a version of the application used in production and a new version developped independently using different technologies and software stacks, specifically their APIs and underlying databases.

This mission was also the opportunity to consolidate my front-end development skills with TypeScript and React, and to work within the boundaries of a set design system.

Staff Software Development Engineer

Following the acquisition of TypeZero Technologies by industry leader Dexcom, we had the opportunity to continue our efforts as part of the new Dexcom Virginia R&D team.

As a Staff Software Engineer, I worked to integrate our 2nd and 3rd generation Artificial Pancreas technology into Dexcom’s commercial applications under design controls, bringing the required amount of traceability to the development process, and allowing both design verification and validation of the produced software.

I also had the opportunity to exercise and improve my UI/UX design and development skills, first as part of the redesign of the Artificial Pancreas interface to fit into the existing commercial application, and then when creating a data collection application for internal clinical trial using modern web technologies (Progressive Web App, TypeScript, Svelte, AWS AppSync), giving me a taste for this sometimes overlooked aspect of software development.

My experience at Dexcom allowed me to keep working on a project I was attached to for years while introducing me to the processes and specificities of a large scale company.

Director of Cloud and Software Development

I joined the start-up company TypeZero Technologies soon after its creation, initiated by a few members of the UVA Center for Diabetes Technologies and a successful entrepreneur. As one of the very first engineers on the team, I saw our activity evolve and our ambitions grow: from aiming at improving and commercializing technologies initially developed at UVA for research to revolutionizing the treatment and management of diabetes to lower the burden on patients.

As Director of Cloud and Software Development, I worked on the complete redesign of the Artificial Pancreas platform (now called “inControl”), as well as its web monitoring application, with emphasis on optimization and efficiency more than on the modularity of its components.

Our activity then extended to larger scale data analysis tools - both real time and retrospective, using cloud technologies still in development back then (serverless applications, Function-As-A-Service tools) to design therapy optimization and decision helping tools for patients and clinicians, some of which underwent clinical trials.

In parallel, TypeZero having extended its own research and development capacities, I helped set up and organize the software libraries used by the research team, combining flexibility and ease of use with software development good practices and automated test suites and deployments (CI/CD), to allow a fast integration of validated prototypes into production-level software.

Between early 2016 and late 2018, I worked for TypeZero remotely from France. I quickly got used to working in a different time-zone from the team’s (6-hour offset), and to being the only remote member of a mostly on-site company. While this period was certainly challenging, I was able to adapt my workflow to stay efficient and productive in those conditions, thanks to the support of my team.

Research Software Engineer

As a Research Assistant, then as a Research Software Engineer at the UVA Center for Diabetes Technology, I was tasked with maintaining and improving the Python-based real-time web monitoring application used to monitor the “Diabetes Assistant” (DiAs) Artificial Pancreas systems during clinical studies.

Improvements to the platform included the design and implementation of a real-time multi-patients overview dashboard, an automated notification delivery system based on clinician-set parameters, and a data backup and export feature for internal analysis.

I also had the opportunity to assist in the implementation of multiple software modules on the Android-based “DiAs” system, and in the update of its UI/UX components.

My experience at UVA taught me the specificities and challenges of software development for research - rigor of work, but also flexibility of design and modularity of systems - among a pioneer team in Artificial Pancreas technology and diabetes management.
